YBells VS traditional training equipment

YBells VS traditional training equipment

Choosing a piece of fitness equipment can be a challenge. There are so many options, and more niche products come onto the market every year. Where should you start?

In the fitness world, we often hear statements like "kettlebells are great for you" or "dumbbells are the way to go". So what is the right answer?

We'll discuss which equipment is best for you and take an in-depth look at the pros and cons of each to find the best solution. It's important to understand that exercise equipment is a tool. Find out which equipment makes the most sense for you when putting together your home gym.

There is a lot to consider when choosing the equipment you want to buy. One of the first questions you should ask yourself is: "What is the goal of the workout?" Are you trying to lose weight, gain strength, increase your energy, etc.? There's more to consider, but let's get right to the heart of the matter: a versatile piece of equipment like the YBell Neo is suitable for any of the following goals you're pursuing.

YBell is a three-in-one fitness machine that provides plenty of variety, no matter what the goal of the workout is. YBell is an intricately designed machine that combines a kettlebell, a dumbbell, a double-handled medicine ball and a push-up all in one. By simply changing the handle, you change the weight distribution and the type of equipment you use. And that's not all: combining two YBells opens up a whole new category of fitness and athleticism. The impressively designed YBell has a lot to offer.

You can train endlessly with this one device.

HOW DOES YBELL STAND OUT FROM CONVENTIONAL TRAINING EQUIPMENT?

Let's go in-depth to understand what benefits certain exercise equipment has to offer, potential drawbacks and other considerations to ensure you make the right choice when outfitting your home gym. You'll quickly realize why YBell is an excellent choice and why it's the machine for every body.

YBELLS VS. KETTLEBELLS

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned fitness enthusiast, chances are you've used kettlebells in your workout program. Mastering kettlebells may take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of them, they offer a variety of workout options. You can use kettlebells to improve various skills such as strength, power, coordination, functional movement, rehabilitation and cardiovascular training. When used effectively, kettlebells can contribute to virtually any fitness goal you want to achieve.

As an avid kettlebell fan, you may be skeptical about whether a YBell can live up to the standards you expect from a kettlebell. In fact, it is the unique shape and weight distribution of a kettlebell that makes it such an effective tool. However, the YBell Neo's distinctive design replicates the same weight distribution when one of the three outer handles is gripped like a kettlebell - a technique known as the Outer Grip.

To simulate a kettlebell swing, you can grip a single YBell with one or both hands in the same way you would grip a kettlebell. You can also use two YBells for alternating low and high kettlebell swings. If you are also familiar with the bottom-up positioning of a kettlebell, which is often used for shoulder stability training, the YBell will serve this purpose just as effectively!

Use YBells for any of your favorite kettlebell exercises, including the kettlebell high swing.

YBELLS VS. DUMBBELLS

When it comes to designing a workout to improve strength and numerous other skills, dumbbells are a fantastic tool. Dumbbells offer remarkable versatility and ease of use for beginners and experienced athletes alike. Like kettlebells, they offer a range of benefits including strength, hypertrophy, muscle coordination/stabilization, functional movement, rehabilitation and even cardiovascular training.

Unlike kettlebells, where the weight is centralized, the weight of a dumbbell is evenly distributed. This change results in a more targeted load on the specific muscles or joints you are targeting. In simpler terms, compared to kettlebells, you can isolate specific muscles through different movements, even unilaterally.

Holding the YBell by the inner handle - the so-called center grip - imitates the even weight distribution of a dumbbell. If you hold the YBell in the top lock grip, you can concentrate on the upper parts of your arms and stabilize your wrists when performing curls. The Loose Grip, where the YBell forms an inverted triangle, allows you to position the YBell on the shoulder during dumbbell presses or hammer curl squats.

In general, the benefits of a dumbbell or kettlebell are similar, but each offers its own unique advantages. Choosing a machine like the YBell that combines these two features is a total win.

YBELLS VS. MEDICINE BALLS

A medicine ball is a weighted ball that is often the same size as a basketball. It is often used for strength, coordination, speed, power and cardiovascular training. It can spice up your clients' routines. Medicine balls differ from dumbbells and kettlebells in their shape, the way they are held (with two hands) and the ease with which they can be moved. This makes them ideal for functional exercises or movements outside the sagittal plane of motion.

The YBell is of course not a ball. However, with its unique triangular shape, you can easily hold it by two handles with an under grip that provides the same feel and stability as a medicine ball. This way you can use the YBell for traditional two-handled med ball exercises like squats, lunges and presses, but also for more advanced exercises like squat jump punches and skip lunges.

YBELLS VS. PUSH-UP HANDLES

Push-up handles are an often underestimated tool. Push-up handles are designed to increase the range of motion at the end of a push-up. Increasing or changing the range of motion is a great way to increase strength and reduce the risk of injury. Another fantastic bonus of push-up bars is the ability to stabilize or support the wrists. Athletes often report that they experience pain in their wrists when they put their entire body weight on their wrists during push-ups. Push-up grips can help with this problem.

When buying push-up grips, make sure that they are extremely stable so that they do not wobble to one side. The base of the YBell is an excellent example of this. When you place the YBell on the floor and grip the top handle - this is called the top grip - the shape and weight distribution transforms the YBell into an incredibly stable push-up bar. This allows you to keep your wrists straight and gain more depth during push-ups and burpees.

With a YBell, you have all the benefits of kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls and push-ups combined in one piece of equipment. Not to mention the non-slip neoprene coating means the YBells are fantastic for training on any surface, be it a wooden floor or even outdoors in the park or on the beach. The YBells are also easy to transport and are perfect for outdoor group training sessions.

YBells are perfect for individual training, group training, home training and outdoor exercises.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER EXERCISE EQUIPMENT?

We've looked at some of the basic tools you should consider when choosing the right equipment for you, and how YBell is the better choice. Now let's look at other equipment that can complement your YBell workout.

YBELLS IN ADDITION TO BARBELLS AND PLATES

Barbells are another basic tool in a gym. They are easy to use, but usually require a certain learning curve. The barbell is usually a long metal bar weighing 20 kilos that you load with weight plates. Barbells are great for supplementing training with heavy loads, such as squats, deadlifts, vertical and horizontal bench presses, horizontal rows and Olympic weightlifting. They are great for increasing strength, developing maximum power, performing compound movements and full body activation.

Barbells have a lot of power, but also a few disadvantages. Because of the weight load and full-body movement that involves the entire body working together, proper form is critical. Barbells and plates can quickly become a dangerous tool if not used or taught properly.

Another aspect is the cost. You will need to purchase a barbell and the plates, a squat rack and possibly a bench press. If you want to use a barbell for Olympic weightlifting, you will need to invest in high-quality plates, which will drastically increase the cost. Also keep in mind that barbells and plates take up a lot of space due to their size and the necessary accessories.

If your goal is maximum strength development, barbells and weight plates will probably be your main equipment. But if you need mobility exercises and functional training in conjunction with your strength training, you should incorporate YBells into your routine as free weights. In fact, YBell was named the best free weights for 2021 by Women's Health.

YBells are great for strength training and strength gains.

YBELLS IN ADDITION TO A WORKOUT BENCH OR PLYOBOX

A bench can be a good option as it is more comfortable for you to lie down and get up again. It can also be more comfortable to kneel down with a YBell for movements such as single-arm dumbbell rowing. You can use it for exercises like Bulgarian split squats, box deep squats or even some core workouts. A box has similar benefits, including the ability to perform plyometric exercises.

However, benches and boxes take up a lot of space and are difficult to move. A kitchen chair or wooden bench may suffice as a substitute. As for plyometric exercises, you can do them on the floor first before adding a box.

YBELLS IN ADDITION TO CARDIO EQUIPMENT

The main goal of cardio equipment is to increase your cardiovascular performance (heart rate) and endurance. Cardio equipment makes it easier to maintain a constant, elevated heart rate, can be easy on the joints and stimulate the metabolism. The learning curve for most cardio machines is low, making them easy exercise equipment.

However, cardio machines are usually also very expensive, large and heavy. And more importantly, they are not as easy to modify as they are to use, other than changing the speed, intensity or duration.

Remember that the crucial part of cardio training is getting your heart rate up. You can do this quickly through high-intensity resistance training (HIIT) with YBells. YBell workouts can be even more effective because the muscles need to be more activated, the movements are compound and are performed in all planes of motion.

Trainers, fitness professionals and everyday workout enthusiasts rave about their YBell workouts!

WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS?

Remember that no one tool is necessarily better than another. What makes it a useful tool or the right tool for you depends on several factors, including:

  • What is the goal of the workout?
  • Will you be transporting your equipment, or will it always stay in one place?
  • Is the equipment easy to store?
  • Will you use it outside?
  • Which tools give you the most bang for your buck?
  • Is your equipment adaptable to your current and future goals?

Two other important aspects that are often underestimated are the frequency of use and the quality of the equipment. The quality can quickly make or break your experience with the equipment and its use.

With high-quality equipment that lasts for several years and is used frequently, the purchase costs should be worthwhile for you.

Choosing fitness equipment is a challenge. We understand that!

Use YBell to perform kettlebell rack presses without the wrist and forearm discomfort that can occur with kettlebells.

The versatility of an exercise machine is crucial, along with all the other aspects mentioned above. This is the reason why the YBell was invented in the first place. Every single piece of exercise equipment has its merits. You could argue that owning lots of exercise equipment gives you versatility for your home gym. But the ability to turn one piece of equipment into multiple pieces of equipment in the same workout adds a magical touch to your workout.
